Substitute Educational Assistants

Frog Lake Education Authority of Frog Lake First Nation are requiring Substitute Educational Assistants for both the Headstart & Daycare Program located at Chief Napeweaw School.

The successful candidates will have:

  • The ability to work with a variety of stakeholders; e.g., students, parents, administration, elders
  • Assisting Head Start Coordinator or Daycare Manager in supervising children and assisting in activities with children
  • Interact with Children throughout the day as directed by the Head Start Coordinator or Daycare Manager
  • Understanding of local culture and traditions 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Willingness to advocate and participate in outdoor activities
  • Demonstrate healthy living by example

Successful applicants will possess:

  • Cree language instructor certificate or equivalent
  • Completion of High School Diploma and a minimum of Level 1 Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistant with Special Needs or Child & Youth Care or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children
  • Pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to engage in relationships at the individual, familial and community levels
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills would be considered an asset.

Salary will be determined on experience and level of education
