About the Role
Frog Lake Education Authority of Frog Lake First Nations, a Cree community in Northeastern Alberta, runs three schools accredited in the Province of Alberta. We are requiring (1) Cree Language Instructor at Tustukeeskaws Jr./Sr. High School for September 2022.
The successful candidates will have:
The ability to work with a variety of stakeholders; e.g., students, parents, administration, elders
Knowledge of the Alberta School Act and the Alberta Curriculum
Understanding of local culture and traditions
Strong oral and written communication skills
Willingness to advocate and participate in outdoor activities
Demonstrate healthy living by example Salary will be determined on experience and level of education

Requirements
Cree language instructor certificate or equivalent
An undergraduate degree in Education with Cree language preferred
Minimum of 1 years teaching experience in Cree Language
Pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Knowledge and understanding of how to engage in relationships at the individual, familial and community levels
And demonstrate cultural sensitivity
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills would be considered an asset.
