As part of the stunning Lakeland region, Frog Lake is surrounded by the most breath-taking scenery imaginable. A true nature-lover’s paradise, we’re known for our trails, lakes, wildlife and outdoor hobbies. Alberta’s Iron Horse Trail is an absolute must-do for any visitor.
For history buffs, we’ve got provincial historic sites that can’t be missed, like the Fort George-Buckingham House. With so many great places in Frog Lake, we’re a fantastic base to explore the many attractions of the Lakeland region.

Frog Lake National Historic Site
Just inside the Alberta border, the site of this tragic event is laden with memories of lives lived and lost

Each component is motion activated. This is a GREAT way for families of all ages to enjoy a day in the summer sun!

The Iron Horse Trail
From rails to trails…Experience walking, wagon and cycling adventures as well as snowmobile, ATV and horseback riding on the Iron Horse Trail!

WHITNEY LAKES
Camping – The park has two campgrounds. Ross Lake campground has 149 well-treed campsites, 18 of which are equipped.

MURAL PARK
Local artists and volunteers introduced a paint by number approach to designing a variety of cultural, western-themed murals across the town.

Not only is our visitor centre full of useful information, it’s also eco-friendly!
Located on the Iron Horse Trail, the Elk Point Visitor Centre is partially powered by solar. Open mid-May through to September, you can get help and guidance on the best places to visit in our beautiful area.
